As a northern-born Southern child, Alan’s real estate career spans three states and four decades, but home and heart has always been in the hills. He and wife Noel live right up the road in Laurel Park in Hendersonville. Six grown children and twelve grandkids reside all over the place!
Long noted for interpersonal skills, Alan has managed sales and resort operations from Colonial Williamsburg to Hilton Head Island. As Director of Sales and Marketing at Harbour Town, he even dabbled in yacht sales. Yep, he got his toes in the water there, though, while working at Fairfield Mountains’ Rumbling Bald Resort, Alan and family had already fallen under the spell of majestic mountains and the magical waters of Lake Lure.
Building upon a lifetime of enduring professional friendships and utilizing his extensive knowledge of the region, Alan continued to foster meaningful client relationships as he conceived and created two celebrated mountaintop neighborhoods in Hendersonville. Both are noted for their thoughtful, earth friendly design. Alan likes to say, “we wanted to landscape, not landscrape.” Paraphrasing Frank Lloyd Wright, “the homes should be of the hill, not on the hill”.
This “idea man” is a seasoned professional Realtor with a background as a conceptual planner and entrepreneur. A well-read world traveler, Alan greets each day with joy, be it down at the lake or up in the hills. He puts his hand out to others who, in pursuit of their dreams, seek the same feeling. By affiliating with Pinnacle Sotheby’s International Realty, Alan joins together with friends, both old and new, to secure that promise for his clients.
