#WNCSTRONG: Rebuilding Together with Heartfelt Thanks and Updates on Lake Lure’s Recovery

We extend our deepest gratitude to all our clients, friends, and community members who have reached out with well-wishes, prayers, and support in the wake of Hurricane Helene. The strength and resilience we’ve witnessed have been both humbling and inspiring.

First, we want to thank the incredible people who have worked tirelessly to help us rebuild. Lake Lure Town staff, the dedicated team at Rumbling Bald Resort, local fire departments, area churches, and countless volunteers—both local and those who traveled great distances—have been instrumental. Your compassion and commitment have shown us the true meaning of community. In these moments, we are reminded of the resilience and spirit that make our country great.

While progress is underway, we remain mindful of those who have experienced deep losses—the loss of loved ones, homes, cherished pets, and businesses. The beloved communities of Bat Cave and Chimney Rock face a long road to recovery, but with the support of friends and neighbors, their spirit remains unbroken.

To keep everyone informed, here’s an update on recovery efforts from the Town of Lake Lure. For daily updates, please visit townoflakelure.com:

  • Lake Clean-Up: The Army Corps of Engineers, along with AshBritt Environmental, is making steady progress in clearing Lake Lure. They are prioritizing the removal of hazardous debris, with silt and sediment removal to follow.

  • Restricted Access: Chimney Rock Village traffic remains limited, and officials have implemented a pass system for residents. The NC Highway Patrol has set up a checkpoint at The Hickory Nut Store, allowing entry only for homeowners, workers, or approved volunteers.

  • Park and Trail Closures: Morse Park, the Lake Lure Welcome Center, and the remaining section of the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge are currently closed for safety and construction work. All town parks and trails are temporarily closed as assessments and clearing continue.

  • Rumbling Bald Resort: While Bald Mountain Lake fared somewhat better, the effects of the storm are visible, and it will take time to return to its pristine state.

The real estate market has felt the storm’s impact as well, but signs of recovery are appearing as things return to pre-hurricane conditions. For current listings and real-time updates, visit pinnaclesir.com to explore properties through Canopy MLS.
